Cubist Faces

Each portrait is a composite of a dozen photographs –parts of the face in extreme closeup–merged in Photoshop. Like Cubist paintings, multiple views of a face are presented simultaneously. These distorted visages are alternately disturbing, funny, or beautiful. Because our brains are hardwired to see faces in the standard configuration, a peculiar tension is inescapable, offering viewers a vehicle for exploring and contemplating an emotional response.
